Second Chances
Well, I had the nerve to backslide for fourteen years. I got on drugs and stole from my beloved mother to support my habit. My addiction was so bad, I would leave my job to run to get drugs. I was just out there. It was the Devil’s desire to kill and to destroy me.
One evening, while I was working, I began to have some chest pains. I told my boss and he called 911. When they came, they took my blood pressure and it was 200/180. They put me in the E.M.S. truck and rushed me to the hospital. But, before they closed those doors, I looked up and said to the Lord God Almighty, “Lord, if you allow me to come out of this, I will give my life back to you.” Ooooh Hallelujah, Hallelujah, and so He did. I stayed in the hospital for 7 days. And when I was let go, I went home and threw out ALL my drugs, my pipes, and my cigarettes. I flushed the drugs down my toilet. And never went back to none of it.
I was invited to my cousin’s church and went one Sunday. I heard the word, and have been there for 10 years. I am loving God Almighty to the fullest and enjoying my way to heaven. If you feel as though you can’t give up drugs, I want you to know that God is able to take the taste right out of your mouth. If you come to Him with a broken spirit and a contrite heart, My God Almighty will not despise or reject you. Just be honest with Him and express to God what’s going on because He already knows. Read Psalm 51 and see what David was going through and how God didn’t turn him away. Read the Bible and listen to some good teaching and preaching at www.theredeemedchurch.org and you will get a better and clearer understanding of what this great, free, and awesome salvation is all about.
I hope and pray that my testimony reaches out and touches someone's life.
